Animikii was founded 21 years ago! Since the very beginning we’ve been working with First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities on innovative technology projects with meaningful impact. In celebration we:
- Relaunched our website at Animikii.com
- Kicked off our expanded scholarship program now includes business grant!
- And we are launching a new eBook is called #DataBack Vol 2: Truth Before “Indigenous AI” and it’s about understanding and resisting Generative AI. We present a critical review of this emergent technology for anyone who wants to better understand and protect their rights and privacy.

It is important to acknowledge the passing of Mazina Giizhik, His Honour, Murray Sinclair - his words, actions and knowledge have been featured here many times. An integral part of our social impact mission is dedicated to the Truth and Reconciliation movement. At Animikii, we're deeply moved by his legacy of using truth to create pathways for healing. Thank you, Murray Sinclair, for showing us that the path to a better tomorrow requires both truth and action.
