Boozhoo News River readers,

Indigenous creativity is everywhere this week! From virtual cultural experiences to social support systems, Indigenous creatives and organizations are using technology to share their stories and support their communities. This week's highlights:

  • Talaysay Tours adapts traditional storytelling to virtual platforms
  • Indigenous computational media artist joins Simon Fraser University
  • Anishnabeg Outreach introduces "AO Nest," an app for mental health support

Tanya Talaga's newest book "The Knowing" was released this week. A seminal unravelling of the centuries-long oppression of Indigenous People in Canada Indigenous families have long known about disappeared relatives, often sent to residential schools and other institutions. This hidden history is one of Canada's greatest open secrets, an unhealed wound. A documentary version will premiere at TIFF in early September, and be available on CBC Gem.  Animikii is proud to be the digital partner for Makwa Creative.
